Summary Results

Our customers has improved their email security with the Cisco Security solutions in several ways.

The solution intercepts suspicious traffic and potential threats in the cloud before they reach the desktop. This proactive approach is backed by the SIO, which handles over 30 billion queries daily and increases malware detection rates by more than 20 percent over signature-based scanning-only products. In the first six months, the customer blocked over malicious threats and reduced spam levels by 99.3 percent.

The solution also educates employees about safe Internet use. IT security policy is enforced by the ability to quickly and easily block websites that are often used by malware and spyware creators. “The Cisco IronPort solution gives us more control,” says Member of IT. “For example, remote workers at a production site can use PCs in the Internet cafe during their breaks.”

The solution reduces the risk of losing legitimate email that could contain customer orders, breeder data, agreements, or documentation.

“We’ve seen a 75 percent reduction in false positives, which are cases when the scanner wrongly thinks it has found a specific vulnerability,” says Member of IT. “In simple terms, this means more ‘good’ email is getting through the system, which means our supply chain can work more effectively and efficiently. If there are any issues, our system even alerts our users who can release certain types of mail themselves.”

The project has also benefited several IT teams. “Calls to our IT Service Desk have decreased significantly,” says Senior Management. “Overall, we hardly spend any time dealing with security problems, which means we can focus on planning and delivering projects that will add more value to the business.”
